4th Grade Coil Pots

The 4th grade students at Carroll grow flowers every spring from seeds. This year, I decided to have them make coil flower pots, so they can take their flowers home for Mother's Day as a gift. I talked to the 4th grade teachers several months ago, and they all liked the idea as well. I showed the students basic ways to build with coils, but they impressed me with their creativity! Some of these students found really unique ways to use their coils. The flower pot saucers are just slab circles with the edges turned up. This project was a great success; I plan to do it again next year!

  1. Jessica,

These are very cute! I'd like to post on our AMACO Crafts Facebook page to share with our followers, and link back to your page.

    1. You're welcome to do that! We used all Amaco glazes, as well as Amaco clay (white no. 25).
